[Maharashtra Day special] How these Maharashtrian Districts got their names

May 1 is Maharashtra Day. In a classic case of ‘ghar ki murgi daal baraabar’, I realised I know much about the etymologies of cities and countries from around the world, but not so much from my home state.
So here are 7 questions, each about how a Maharashtrian district’s name traces its origin.
